has anyone else received a call from Mineral Elements telling you that you have won makeup and $100 in gas cards? they wanted my credit card number to pay for the shipping cost of $8.32. just didn't sound right to me, even though they had my name, address and phone number.
 
thank you so much. didn't give them my credit card number. thought it was a scam, because if you win something it shouldn't cost anything to receive it.
 
Smart girl. Don't ever give out your personal info to anyone who calls you. Even on e-mail don't click on a link to go to any website to pay for something. Go to the website directly. I hope you win something really big - really soon.
 
FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND, NO LEGITIMATE SWEEPSTAKES OR CONTESTS WILL ASK YOU FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION.
yOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A WIN. USUALLY, IT IS A SCAM.
hOWEVER, THERE ARE A FEW THAT MENTION IN THE RULES THAT YOU NEED TO PAY FOR SHIPPING AND HANDLING. THEN THEY SAY YOU
WILL BE TOLD WHAT TO DO.

NEVERT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION TO ANYBODY OR ANY COMPANY UNLESS YOU DEAL WITH THEM.
 
Glad you didn't give out your credit card info. They probably had your information through a bogus sweepstakes that you had entered. Hope you win something real and big next time!
 
don't EVER GIVE your credit card to anyone who calls on the phone for a PRIZE That is the biggest Red Flag One can Give..... I'm proud of you that you sent them Packing..... :headbang:
 
Better safe than sorry. If you won, no need for them to ask for your credit card number. So glad you followed your instincts :)
 
many thanks to all of you. I relied on my instincts that said this was a scam. just hope no one will fall for this type of scam. always trust your first feelings about something. they are usually right. wishing many wins for each of you. happy sweepstaking. :)
 
I received the same phone call as well. I lied and said I didn't have any of my credit cards on me. The person on the phone copped an attitude quickly and said "what are you saying, you don't even have your debit card or one credit card with you?" I said "no". She said well, it is only a one time offer. I said "oh well" and hung up. Winning means just that - winning! I agree with everyone above. I never give out my credit card or bank info unless I make the phone call to buy something.

Don't worry, a real win is on it's way!!!
