Done with Pastures of Opportunity Sweepstakes

I've been entering these sweeps for years with no wins. Now I know why. The last two winners have the same last initial and they're from the same town (not a big, well-known city.) I have no doubt they're husband and wife. It's very hard to win sweepstakes. It's even harder when a sponsor allows multiple winners per household. I read the rules for each sweep I enter and they all say the same thing: one winner per household. Why should this one be any different? I sent them an email voicing my displeasure and asked them to please change it to one winner per household. I doubt if they will listen but it felt good to get it off my chest.

 It is disappointing to not win, but you must realize that there are thousands of people entering these. Several SA members have won so it is legitimate. I agree that it is unusual but certainly not impossible to have 2 winners in a row from the same small town. That's just the luck of the draw and I can't even wrap my head around the odds of that happening. I have been entering there sweeps for years and have never won, but that doesn't mean that I never will. I am patient and know that someday it will be my turn. Best of luck to you!

Just out of curiosity I googled Joliet MT. It's even smaller than I had imagined. Poplulation in the 2000 census was 575! :)

Thank you, pmeek for responding. I'm sorry. I just had to vent. It's so frustrating to enter sweepstakes day in and day out with nothing to show for it. I'll try to be more patient but I'm not making any promises. lol Best of luck to you also!

 wishinandhopin - I go with my gut on sweeps. If it feels "hinky" I pass it up.

If I discover something about the company that makes me think they are unethical? Well, if I already had the "hinky" gut feeling, it just cements the feeling, but if I didn't? I have to decide if I want to believe the worst with scant information.

Over the years, I've dropped, added, and re-added sweeps from certain sponsors, and so far, all that's accomplished is changing my timing on the other sweeps.

I gave up on WomansDay sweeps after years of daily entering, and about 5 months later, I got a win, lol!

My general rule? Use PLUS to organize my sweeps so the MUST enter don't get missed, and if I have the time, I do the rest. All while leaving the sponsors to police their promos/selves, and that way I stay cheerful. :sunny:

This topic and that of 2 people winning the same sweep in the same household with the same last name is indeed coincidental. What is even more coincidental is the fact that the EXACT same names from Joliet MT. won back to back on Classis Heartland. Yep. Interesting, isn't it

There have been several I have "given up on" over the last 1+ year. Just not worth it. Sometimes, I will pop in and enter one day a week on some or one day a month. But some just don't seem to be winners for me. Just my thing.

Oh...by the way, I gave up on Pastures of Op. after about 2-3 months!
