Do you refer a friend for the extra entries?

I recently used the refer friends on a couple of sweeps that I'd love to win and was wondering how many people are getting bunches of entries every day from their massive number of friends they refer :laughing:

I don't know anyone who really does sweeps, but will occasionally irritate my loved ones with a referral. :crazytongue:

Not usually. Once in awhile if its a really, really good sweep I will use the emails members have given here in vote and referral section.

No, I treat sweeps like chain mails. I hate getting them and never forward them on to friends, so I won't forward sweepstakes to them either.

I might refer my sister once in a while if it's a good sweep... but otherwise no. I think my non-sweeping friends (all friends) think I'm nuts.

I don't. Sometimes I will tell my husband he should enter something (like the ones for the trips to the All Star Games) but I don't send him anything. He usually doesn't enter, either. Oh well.

I read an article some where that was saying to use a catch all email address for sweeping for this reason.

Basically you have yourdomain.com and anything addressed to the domain goes to your inbox. Then you could just make up some names like so, [email protected], [email protected], etc.

You will get your extra entries and won't annoy the snot out of your loved ones.

Is not, it ask you to send referrals for additional entries. I'm not referring to using those email address to enter the contest rather only use them for a referral. Above stated sending them to the people that spam you. It really wouldn't be any different then doing that.

But that is cheating, you can only enter yourself once, that isn't right, how can you enter yourself more than once, that is wrong, that is unethical, that is foul play :sunny: :crazytongue:

But back to the question at hand: I never refer anbody for the following reasons:

  [li]my friends usually don't appreciate it ... and let me know that,[/li]
  [li]and most of all: FOR EVERY PERSON I REFER IT DECREASES MY ODDS OF WINNING IF THEY ENTER ALSO! :error:[/li]

Actually, if you check the rules for sweeps that allow extra entries, they usually state the addy must be valid & that you know the recipient

We have a thread for sharing addys for referrals here at SA - most of us have a addy JUST for that purpose
