All Folks Going to the LoneStar Stampede

I can "speak" to a few of the restaurants - I live in Austin and my brother, until last year, lived in San Antonio, and we went to visit him about 1 time a month (since 1983!). I haven't been lately (for a year), but I don't think the restaurants will have changed very much :sunny:

Biga's On the Banks - it's pricey, but believe me, the food is very, very good and the service is excellent.

County Line - barbecue, barbecue, barbecue (for those Yankees out there, the sauce comes "on the side" not in the meat; I am a "Damned Yankee" [I originally hailed from Michigan] and it perplexed me, too, but I am used to it now )

Shilo's Deli - a German deli; makes the most FANTASTIC root beer I have ever drunk, and the potato salad is mmmm-good, too.

Demo's Greek Food - I used to go to the one on Blanco Road, but I expect this one is good, too. Gyros, dolmathes, etc.

Paesano's River Walk - Italian food; very, very good; my husband, Bob, likes Shrimp Paesano - whenever he goes there for work or play, he ALWAYS gets the Shrimp Paesano (it's made with lots of garlic, cream, butter - a heart attack waiting to happen, but it's soooo good).

My husband, Bob, and I hope to see you at the convention and maybe we can go to the restaurants together
