Hi Everyone,
I am a sweeping newbie and I was wondering about daily vs. one-time sweeps. Does it really help your chances to enter everyday? How do the companies select an e-mail entry? I've noticed in the rules for some of the daily entries that the grand prize is awarded to one winner from multiple "sweepstakes". ????

Thanks for your comments and happy sweeping!!

hello :smt006 welcome. I like the one entry better than the daily. Your odds are better. It does help to enter the daily ones daily. If it is something you would really like to win. But then again some people have won dailys with only a couple of entries. I like to enter them daily. I dont like the creative presentation ones. The ones where it is one prize spread out over 10 sweeps. but people have won from them too. Its all about what you want to spend your sweeping time on. If you have a limited amount of time to spend only enter the ones you really, really want. I dont know how they draw names. kinda curious about that myself. just enter, enter and enter some more and the wins will come. good luck to ya. go win some stuff :smt003

Thanks for the reply. I didn't notice the whole "creative presentation multiple sweepstakes" thing until recently. Kind of sneaky. Hah!

most judging agencies use a computer method of picking a winner, if thereis also mail in entries. I believe they pick entries a lot of ways some they print out online entries and mix them in a drum, there are some agencies that pick entries through out the period and draw from those entries that they randomly pick throughout the promotion and chose there winner.

Welcome to SA fun4me :smt006

Lately, I haven't had the time to enter 1x's - but when I did, I rarely ever won from them - daily and IW sweeps were what I won from.

That puts me 180 out from 3mnkids1 - which is the norm - what works for me may not work for you :smt002

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants!

IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win. If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

The sweepers credo? Enter and forget it. Always be happy for those that win - even when they win "your" prize :smt002 - and be positive you will win.

Just remember this - every day brings new opportunities to win!!!

Reminding myself of the sweepers credo is how I keep my positive attitude, and my sanity. :smt003

Hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - you'll be posting a win before you know it!!!

Welcome.

Mathematically speaking....

Let's say there are 100 people.

If each enters a one time entry sweep, everyone has a 1 in 100 chance of winning.

If instead there is a daily sweep that goes for 10 days, if everyone entered every day, there would be 1000 entries in the sweep and again, each person would have a 1 in 100 chance of entry, since each person has 10 of the 1000 entries. If instead you only enter once, and everyone else enters 10 times, you would have a 1 in 991 chance of winning. Of course, everyone typically doesn't enter every day. So, depending upon how many times you enter vs everyone else determines if you have better odds than others or not. Just getting that one entry in is sufficient to win. Entering daily gives you a better shot. Typically, there are more than 100 people entering and your chances of winning are close to slim to none (at least for the good prizes), but, someone has to win , and it just could be you.

Good luck.

J

Thank you to everyone for your support and Sweeper Wisdom! I have won only one instant in the past few months but it was pretty cool! I have visited several other sites and so far I keep coming back to SA.
Thanks again and Happy Sweeping!!

The best method of picking a winner was from a woman who runs a small boutique online. She prints out all the entries and balls them up into wads of paper. She dumps them on the floor and lets her cat play with the wads of paper. Which ever wad goes to a designate area wins.

Blame the cat if you do not win, lol.
