D-Rex Win! Well, I hope ???

I received an email that my son won a Mattel D-Rex! :) He really wanted this and I only found the sweep at the end, so I didn't get too many entries into the sweep. Fortunately, he won. But after looking at the attached rules on the email it says the eligible ages to enter are 8 - 17 years old. My son is 6. I know that I wouldn't have entered him unless he was the correct age. I did a google search and all contest sites that I find say ages 6-17 years old, but the actual posted link for the rules just goes to an expired page on the cartoon network page that is no longer there. :cry: By any chance, does someone else have a copy of the actual rules from before to verify the correct eligible ages?

Perhaps if you could give more information on the name of the sweep or sponsor we could provide you with more information.
 
:wave: Oh, sorry about that. I guess that would be important information. :booty" It was the Cartoon Network Win a D rex sweepstakes. It expired November 3, 2008. I typed before I completed my thoughts.
 
:sunny: You are right the rules don't come up, but I am guessing by the SA post that it is 6-17. The editors are usually very good at getting the ages correct from the rules.

Did the email say that you had to do anything to get the prize or that they will just send the prize out?
 
:) I agree, they are usually really good at the ages on the sweeps. When I did a google search, I think there was at least 3 other sites that had the same ages listed, too. The email said that I needed to fill out the attached affidavit on the email and fax back to them. The affidavit ask for the childs age and birthdate. Here is a paragraph from the winning email:

The GEM Group has been hired by Cartoon Network to ensure your child’s eligibility of this prize. To help confirm the legitimacy of this Promotion, I have attached a copy of the Official Rules for your review along with the required Acceptance Form & Affidavit Release (“Release”). In order to be deemed an eligible winner per the Official Rules, please print out the Release and upon completion fax back to my attention.

Here is what the attached emailed rules had listed for ages:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MANY WILL ENTER, FEW WILL WIN.
1. ELIGIBILITY. The Mattel D-Rex™ Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eight (8) years of age and no older than seventeen (17) years of age as of the date of entry and who have express parental permission to enter.

So, now I am not sure what to do. Maybe the rules that they emailed are incorrect. I know that they had another sweepstakes after Win a D Rex sweep for winning a Nerf blaster. I know my son was too young to enter into that one. Maybe they got the two sweeps confused and combined the two rules somehow. ???
 
:blob: I am so happy right now! :crazytongue: I just got a confirmation email that they received our affadavit and my son will receive his D-Rex. They are going to try to ship them out so that the winners will receive before Christmas. This sure will be a special present under the Christmas tree!
