I'm running late this morning anyway and have a straggler to drive to school. I finally get out to the car to discover that my husband has left his key in the ignition, in the on position. Not only will the car not start, no surprise there, it's ticking. I have no idea what that means. For me it means I can't get squat done today and have a car situation and expense to deal with. And when I called the husband to complain, I got his voicemail. ARRRGGHHH! :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

You have a dead battery, and the clicking is the ignition. Hopefully, that's not damaged. Maybe, you can get a neighbor to give you a jump start.

It's also a good idea to keep a battery charger in the garage. They take longer to charge the battery back up than a jump start, but a blessing in a pinch.

:crazytongue: and Monday is off and running! Gee, I wonder what GSW is serving her dh for supper tonight!

If he'd left the key in the car around here it wouldn't have sat there long enough for the batter to run down....I swear the thieves have radar...

Update: I got lucky this time. Living up to their excellent reputation for customer service, USAA sent a guy right out. The ignition was not damaged and the ticking stopped once he juiced up the battery. Yeah! Free to run errands! The husband won't be home for several hours yet, so he need not fear that I am waiting at the door with a rolling pin. It also gives me several hours to decide which chore I should ask him to do this evening...

Which chore? Don't you mean which one chore you won't ask him to do tonight! Glad your car is up and running. My husband is a mechanical genius, yet I am the one that always has to fix things!

Look at it this way. It's another 7 days before you have to face Monday again. And, we rapidly downhilling to Spring! :sunny:
