It's the biggest prize ever for me, but have to pay the taxes, so won't be "jumping thru the hoops" to make it happen. Oh well, I can still watch all the college football I want from my easy chair.

update:

I decided to go. When I told I could invite 3 buddies of mine, they all begged me to take them along. We're going to plan for an LSU at New Orleans in 2013

sounds like you had to turn it down bummer did the same to a trip win also this year congrats anyhow

Congrats! Hey....I am NOT being rude.....but when you entered did you know that the taxes would be due?? I never enter a sweeps that I can't financially take care of....that way the odds are better for the people that can! There are so many trip sweepstakes that I would love to enter and win....but I can't and don't enter if they are not helping at least with some cash to spend or offset the taxes......BUT....I am happy you won! Go Longhorns! :sunny:

Yea, I know what you mean on taxes, I won a super bowl package ($8,500) and had to turn it down for the same reason, they did pick another winner. I was entering for the lesser prizes and they would not trade or let me sell the prize. Besides, I don't travel (fly) so I don't enter those kind of sweeps, unless they have lesser prizes that I can use or want, which is probably what happened to you.

:sunny: Congratulations on getting the win! Hopefully another great win that you can keep will come along.

Congrats! Simple way to take care of tax situation. Explain to your eager buddies that you would be happy to take them along. Just have them pitch in their percentage of your tax obligations for doing so.
