Contains Lead?

WTH? I was doing to shopping for some wall art and when I scrolled down to read the reviews it said "warning: this product contains lead which may cause cancer to California residents".....

ummmm..... so my question is... do I have to be touching the item to have it harm us or can it be hanging on the wall in my house and i don't have to worry? but then if so, won't breathing the air with the wall art on the wall still be harmful? I'm confused and scared now... the wall art is soooo pretty but I'm very nervous... should i just consider something else?

Sorry...I couldn't resist! I wouldn't buy it...lead is really really hard on kids, and I wouldn't want it in my house with my kids. It causes brain damage and other things...

Symptoms of Toxicity
The general symptoms of lead poisoning are universal although more informaton is available on poisoning in humans. The first symptoms of lead toxicity are very general and nonspecific. These include nausea, sluggishness, vomiting, painful gastrointestinal irritation, diarrhea, loss of appetite, colic, weakness and dehydration. These symptoms are common to many disorders and can often lead to inaccurate diagnosis.
Some symptoms more specific to human poisoning include discoloration of the lips and skin attributed mild secondary anemia, a lead line on the gums, developmental disorders, sterility and abortion. There have also been some prelimiunary reports indicating that chronic lead poisoning can also lead to chronic nephritis and premature development of arteriosclerosis.
More severe cases of poisoning can produce symptoms including convulsions,"wrist drop" or external limb paralysis, coma and ultimately death.

Even though I figure there is only a very small amount in the painting, to me it is just to much of a risk ~ just my opinion though! I know what it is like to be crazy over a painting or something and not be able to get it!

If you do decide not to get it I hope you find something you like even better!
