I had two virus' taken off my laptop yesterday for a cost of $60. They were caused by a
"web search toolbar" that got added to my computer somehow. Now let me explain this
a little further. The web site did not give me the viruses BUT it was the catalist that gave
the viruses the ability to enter my computer
. If you see anything on yours about a
web search toolbar DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY!!!

This info is from my computer tech!

Thank you for the info, good to know. I had a virus try to invade from Woman's World today. Luckily, I have Norton Antivirus and it removed it. Please see my post today, which explains it in detail

I have a few toolbars with search engines one of them is MYWEBSEARCH and I use it cause I adore the screensavers and the wallpapers etc. they also have fun ecards and mouse icons etc. I know it is an adware as it shows up in my system as such and I thought I had been given a virus by them and contacted them as to this and they were adamant it was not and they wanted the tech info etc. which I am clueless to so they could have researched it further..... Do u know if the toolbar u had used and was the catalyst is the same as the one I listed? How does one pay to remove a virus... doesnt your anti virus thingy just delete them or quarantine em?? Im so not techy.... unfortunately. Thanks for any info

I got hit with a virus, too, during the past few days. I remember 2 shady sites, one of which, wanted to add something to my toolbar, and the other wanted me to change my security settings. I'm sorry, but I don't remember which sweeps they were, however I do know that i was in the "expiring sweeps, for 12-5 to 12-9. The virus took off my Bing browser, changed some security settings, and disabled java. I try to live by my daughter's advice, "If in doubt, don't click on it!!"
