Cheaters?

I'm new to this but as a teacher I get annoyed by cheaters. Is it considered bad sweeping to enter sweeps under your mothers email, brothers, etc.... I really cant stand when people get a win and brag they got it under someone elses email. :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

I dislike it when people win under their pets emails. I have 18 cats but I'm not entering them in sweeps. I can just see the JA now...sending out T-shirts to "Black Fuzzy Kitty of Death Gardner" "Slinky Cat Gardner" and, of course "Fluffy Butt Gardner"

:sunny: Anytime someone enters using another name other than themselves it is not legal, as that person isn't agreeing to the rules. Unfortunately, it does happen. You just have to keep entering and believing in yourself. I do believe in karma and one way or another it will come back to those people.
Best of luck to you!

I was a member at another site before coming to SA, and this topic was discussed quite frequently. Usually, as now, in response to what someone posted.

I can understand your concern gingerw, but it is up to the sponsors/JA's to police their sweeps, we can only advise others of what the rules are and set the example for them to follow them.

Having said that, how others choose to interpret those rules is up to them. If they intrepret incorrectly, they will risk being DQ'd.

Attempting to shame others into doing what we wish is IMHO what causes all the friction and dissension at that site I referred to - I'd really hate it if that atmosphere became commonplace here too!!!

The constant heavy handed negativity some places sure takes all the fun out of life :sunny: As cold as it is out there tonight maybe Fluffy Butt could use a T-shirt  (don't worry, I have the heat lamp on in the cat's area)

You come into the question of entering for your children ~ yes, I do. No, I don't enter all my kids into every sweep ~ in fact I only enter one, depending on the age limit. I don't have time to enter my 2nd cousins ex husband once removed by marriage on his mother's father's side ~ but some people do. If they want to try to keep it straight, then more power to them. I do good to try to enter me, myself and I! I don't even do that very well anymore~

and if Fluffy McNasty, Angel, Albie, or Scamper want to win a t-shirt they better win a computer and service first ~ and maybe some fingers

Now if they had fingers I'd put them to work doing write ins, not online entries.... Since I've developed this tremor I can't fill out a sase to save my soul....

btw - many consider using a program to fill in your forms (roboform, autofill, etc) cheating too. That doesn't mean it's true - most rules will specify "Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will be void" but they are referring to progs that enter FOR you. Those people are usually fast typists and don't have dyslexia.

There are also those that believe that there should only be 1 entry per HH - ALWAYS. Even though the rules don't restrict entries by family members. I always figured if you had lots of mouths to feed, they should all be trying to help out by entering - and hopefully winning!!!

My point is that the best we can do is to follow the rules - and to let others know what the rules are so they don't DQ themselves.

To do anything else crosses over into our own personal opinions and preferences, and that doesn't really help other members out - rather, it can hurt them if they feel persecuted - and this site is unique in the fact that we are supportive of our fellow members. :headbang:

If you're using other people and their emails to get more entries for yourself to win the prize for yourself, it is cheating. If you are entering on behalf of other people for them themselves to keep the prize and be responsible for the taxes, etc., then it is not. Previously, ePrize and HGTV have stated that it is not cheating to enter on behalf of someone else. However, some people seem to have their own set of rules in their head!! :crazytongue:

Do my different voices count as different rules???

Mine are never quiet!!! They start the stupidest fights ~ just like children!!! Of course, I don't speak their names our loud anymore ~ people start to look at you strangely after awhile
