Celtic Thunder Runner up and Embassy Suites D.C. winner

Won a discount cruise pass, making trip on Celtic Thunder Cruise to Bahamas 90 percent off. Unfortunately, can't make that date, but won Embassy Suites D.C. getaway a couple weeks ago that we're doing next month. Two nights hotel, metro passes, Hard Rock g.c., dinner for 4 and tour passes! Sending good luck to all the sweepers! ;)

Congrats! I won that same cruise about 2 weeks ago! Too bad you can't go. But DC is great! I won a week-end trip there a couple of years ago! We did a Segway tour while we were there and saw a lot of the monuments very quickly! Have fun!

Way to go! Sounds like fun. Funny enough, I won that Celtic Thunder Cruise runner up prize too. I wonder how many of us on here have won that?

I won that, too! Got a gift certificate in the mail offering the cruise for either $380 or $580 total for 2 people depending on the type of cabin I choose. I wasn't sure if it was a scam or not! But my name and the date (8/6) are hand written on the card. Is this legit?

I won it too! Lol. The website says "Winners will be selected at random and announced on the Celtic Thunder Facebook pages. We will also be picking 10 entrants who will be offered the opportunity to book a cabin at a special sweepstakes winner price. These people will be contacted by email with the offer." Seems like we have half that here on SA! But when you try to book through the website the price definitely comes up at over $1000 per person. I was going to book ours tomorrow. I have done web searches to see if anyone calls this out as a scam but have found nothing. What do you guys think? Should we do it?

I probably would. I am thinking that they maybe didn't sell enough cabins so gave away extra discounted ones. There may be extra charges though. I think there were some kind of taxes or port fees that were like an extra $150 pp when I went on my cruise. If we didn't have to fly down I would go. Or if it was free and I had to fly down I would go. But $380 plus $600 for flights if a little pricey for me.

I guess you can add me to the "Runner up winner" list - I remenber entering this sweep and when it arrived I thought wow what a good price for a cruise but it appears that everyone won a runner up prize also Anyway Congrats to you

I also am a runner up,and entered through here! lol - I'm wondering what the other charges will be! I remembered entering but was concerned this might be the case. Did everyone that entered get a runner up card in the mail? Mine is also dated August 6.

I booked it today. The prices quoted included everything...taxes, fees, and gratuities. No secret charges. I booked the balcony so $580 total. Was too good a deal to pass up. :)

Well, I made a deal with the person I'm bringing. I paid for the cruise using my certificate and he is going to cover the flights and any hotel rooms. He gets a great deal on a cruise and I get my flight paid for. Wouldn't work as well for a married couple. :)

Count me as one of the winners of the discount certificate. seeing as this was my very first win since starting sweeeping about a month ago, I was understandably excited and screaming!lol Then my kind and considerate husband looks at me and goes " ummmm you know my parents went on a bahamas cruise last year for around 600bucks right?"whaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... shortlived excitement right there!

I got a certificate in the mail today... I must be the next weeks round of winners. My certificate allows me to book for $380 or $580 for 2 people also. Hard to know what to think. Seems like there are often really cheap deals on cruises, so I don't know if I really want to jump on it. It would certainly be fun, but it doesn't quite seem like a "win" as you still have to pay about $400 +airfare. I don't think it's a scam.... I think they are just trying to fill the ship.

I got the same thing that others got - a certificate for a discounted cruise. I'm not sure if its a scam or not, but I am leaning towards holding out to see if I am a grand prize winner. Otherwise, paying for airfare and (even a discounted) 4 day cruise is not in the budget. The rules indicates that they draw a grand prize winner every week. Am I reading that right?!

I also won the runner up gift certificate for 2 on the Celtic Thunder Cruise sweepstakes. I have already booked my room, and getting ready to book my air=fare. From all the resources I;ve checked this is legit. Can't wait! I love Celtic Thunder's music. Hope to meet some of you there.
