Cellphone versus home/landline phone no.

Hi All,

Most entry forms ask for a phone number as a contact. I am in a situation where I have both a home phone/landline phone and a cellphone. I prefer to not give out my cell number to random places. So if a form says phone number, I am entering my home phone but I am growing concerned that using that number instead of a cell number limits my being contacted, primarily via a text message.

I am trying to limit the number of contacts I have on my cell, just friends and family members who need to reach me, it is more of an emergency use phone. Is anyone in the same spot and using her/his home phone as the primary contact in sweeps?

Thanks,

I only use my landline for entering. My problem is I cannot get a signal for a cell phone at my house since I live in the country surrounded by a lot of trees. I do carry an old flip phone with me when I go somewhere in case I have a flat or car trouble etc. Not aware I've ever lost out on a win but I've done sweeps for years so I guess it could happen but I do read the rules carefully just to see how they would contact.

I use my cell. If I get annoying junk phone calls, it's super easy to block the number. I've been using it for years on sweeps and surprisingly get very few calls. I doubt there are a bunch of sweep wins you are losing out on. Go with what you prefer. :)
