Had anyone ever asked for a cash alternative for a trip win?
Is it usually specified in the rules or something you could ask for?

I never have, but I have seen winners say they asked for a cash alternative and were allowed a [much lower ARV] cash alternative/in lieu prize, but, it is VERY rare
However, it [Cash alternative/Cash in lieu] is something I look for in the rules if the GP is a trip but I'm after lower tier prizes, and if it is NOT offered, unless they state they will re-award the GP, I skip entering.

Thanks Amy! I won a trip but it is one year from now and didn't know if it would be ok to see if a cash alternative was an option. I did read the rules and did not see anything.

Some will state NO cash alternative in the rules, and I've also seen, where there are multiple prizes [like electronics/gc's/etc] that if the TRIP portion is NOT taken, then the other prizes will NOT be awarded

OMG! I asked if it would be an option and it is! I get to pick the ARV which is $4,900.00! I was going to have to wait one year to go on the trip with the family and now we can use the money to travel this summer for my son's Birthday!
