On the first of every month, I tally the money in our accounts (regular, investment, credit cards, etc.) to get a complete view of our money. Today was so brutal!
All of the investments are down at least 20% for the year, my husbands stock options are now worth a whopping $0, and our total money for the year is down 13%. Thank goodness I only track the total net worth picture twice a year (Jan and July) so I didn't have to look up the current value of our house on zillow.com.
Last week was a roller coaster in our lives. Monday I went to the optometrist who found a dark spot on my retina that corresponded to a loss of vision and, unrelated, told me I need bifocals. After spending a whole week thinking I had macular degeneration or some similar problem, I find out Friday from the ophthalmologist that it is nothing to worry about, just an old scar on my retina. Soon after that good news, I find out that our group of babies from China (I went along with my sister who adopted) were all given the tainted formula that's in the news. One baby has kidney problems already and the rest will probably need to be checked. My niece's pediatrician believes she is fine, but it's hard not to worry.
So I am totally ready for some awesome win to pop up in my inbox, or call me, or ring the bell!

has not materialized any wins yet! I've had an every-other-month streak since starting back sweeping this year, so maybe I need to just relax and let October be bad if it needs to be. Certainly Sept, with my blu-ray player win, was very very good!
