It's that time of year here in south Louisiana. A crawfish boil. Fresh crawfish with potatoes corn and all the seasonings to go with it. They taste so good.

Doesn't that look good. Y'all come on down sha.

I'll never forget when we took one of DH's friends from Sweden to a crawfish boil. They had okra too. He thought it was Orka and could not figure out why killer whale tasted like a vegetable....

looks fabulous, wish we could come get some. We make a version here with shrimp. Can't get good crawfish around here!

My husband and I were actually talking about crawfish the other day. We saw it on tv. He asked me if they tasted like Lobster. Can you guess we are from New England? Anyway, I had to say that I have no idea. So, you southern gals, what the heck do crawfish taste like? And, don't tell me "Like Crawfish."

 They do taste sort of like lobster but the meat has a sweeter taste to me. If you like seafood like shrimp and lobster then you would like crawfish. If cooked right they are so good they melt in your mouth. The best way to taste them would be to come down to Louisiana and get them fresh.

Tastes just a little sweeter than shrimp for me, and more tender. And Cin is right, they melt in your mouth if cooked right

I just had more. It's crawfish season and since a lot of my family crawfish for a living they are so good. Wolfie all of the cajun food is really good and it's a tradition that has been in south Louisiana for generations.

I haven't been to Louisianna in years. I want to take hubby to New Orleans. I loved New Orleans. I don't think I slept the three days I was there.

Woo! SA meet up! You guys really need to get together for coffee and beignets at Cafe du Monde! :blob:

I'm only in S. Carolina but still can't get down there any time soon. I wish I could! I've tried alligator but didn't care for it. I did like ostrich and buffalo though. But now I'm craving crawfish and can't get any
