Big time gripe about Butterfinger Defense i.w.

I remember on the first day of this instant win, i had a pop up saying i won 50.00 instant win. No problem there. Well i receive a Fed Ex package about 6-8 weeks ago, with affidivat to fill out stating i had won 1000.00. So i just assumed i had won one of the sweepstakes prizes at the end with the drawing part. Well good thing i didn't go out and spend that 1000.00. I got a Certified letter today from Skybridge sweeps and games stating: "You had recently been issued affidavit paperwork indicating you were a potential First Prize Winner of 1000.00. "Unfortunately, this paperwork was issued toyou in error."

Then it goes on to apoligize for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused.

So anyhow i should be getting my 50.00 in 3 to 4 weeks.

Now i just wonder how they could possibly mess this up so bad. Since i sent in the affy do you think they will still submit it to IRS for taxes? I'm wondering what to do next.

Oh well any comments would be appreciated.

That is certainly disappointing! You should not be asked to pay taxes on a win you did not receive. It is unlikely that you will be sent 1099 materials, but if you are, you have the letter from the sponsor explaining that they did not award the prize.

 So sorry to hear that you also got that letter. Seems a few other SA members got that same letter. Blowing good luck wishes your way!
