Too bad I live in NY & all the venues are in CA. Trying to figure out if it would be worth it to go to CA to see an event. Not sure how 2 tickets & a parking pass are worth $2000. It says reserve seats so maybe something special about them. Best of luck to all. Thanks SA & Coke Sweepstakes. I love coke so much & have won a bunch of prizes from there.
Not sure how to get out of paying taxes on the full $2500 if anyone has suggestions.
 
First congrats on your win. If it was me and I couldn't commute within an hour in my car, I would sell the tickets. Are you share that you have to pay taxes for that since it doesn't involve $$ or transportation?
 
Very cool. Everyone is winning such neat stuff. Awesome win. There are great concerts this summer-Bonneroo with Paul McCartney would be fun if that is one of the choices? Not sure where that is turning up. Congrats! You have to pay taxes on anything you win-unfortunately. Keep track of what you spend money on to play and losses-as you can balance out winnings with losses.
 
Haydonna9, please don't tell people that they can balance their losses with their winnings, that's not true, sweepstaking is not gambling, you must pay taxes on anything you win, period. But, check on how much those tickets are really worth, if you can't sell them. I have gotten 1099s that were way inflated, I always just do a little research on the win, and adjust the 1099 to state the actual value. I've never had a problem with the IRS with this method.
 
You could fly in to San Francisco or San Jose for the Shoreline tickets or Sacramento for the Sleeptrain Tickets. You could also spend the $500 in Raley's gift cards while you are here :-) I live near Sacramento so let me know if I can answer any questions for you...
