Okay, now I just simply cannot wait until 2012 or so... :headbang:

I like everything about how they are doing this, who is directing, and the fact they are covering the period between the Hobbit and the Fellowship in a second movie!!!!! :sunny:  :sunny:

My inner nerd is jubilant, to say the least!!

Saw this online yesterday...we own the Lord of the Rings series ~ I bought it for Jimmie for his birthday when it came out! Love the special effects! Will love to add to the series...The Hobbit was my favorite anyway!

This is great. I read this series when I was 15 and thought they were the best. I did enjoy the movies but wished they had done the hobbit.

When I saw this yesterday I was sooo happy. It's like waiting for the first LoTR again. I can't wait to see what Smaug looks like!!

:sunny:

You know who would do a good Smaug voice? Michael Dorn (Worf from Star Trek), James Earl Jones, or Vin Diesel.

All would do an excellent job, they have such deep, resonating voices...

I have heard Samuel Jackson is supposedly on the short list, but I think that is just a rumor. I just can't see how his voice would fit that character.

Is James Earl Jones still with us? Don't think I have seen him in anything in a long time....

Yep...he is still among the living!! I love to hear him talk! He does have that deep voice thing going! Great for that part!

I tell you someone else I love to hear talk is Morgan Freeman...that man could read my grocery list to me and I would be captivated! He isn't right for Smaug (at least in my book), but I just love to listen and watch him in anything!

Yeah, Morgan Freeman sure does have an awesome voice. I could listen to him all day!

I just thought of another good Smaug voice: Ron Perlman! :sunny:

Or, on the more extreme end of things, there are a couple of metal singers who could probably do a great Smaug. Like Henry Rollins, he would be good for that part. Hmmm.... or how about Ozzy as Smaug?

Ozzy would be different  Can they bleep out movies??? :crazytongue:
