Last week I won a birthday blash outfit coming from Australia. It consisted of an infant birthday hat, headband, and diaper cover. So a very tiny package. The girl writes to me that I need to pay shipping since I live in the US and to pay by paypal. Okay, I don't remember reading that but I didn't want to create any bad sweeping blood by not paying. She tells me that shipping will be $21.10 (yikes!). I've order from places like China before (with tracking) and it was never THIS much. I discovered that there was a problem with my paypal account and I needed her to send me an invoice. No problem. However, when I received the invoice she put the payment in Australian dollars. I write back asking her to change this. Not for nothing, but I'm not just going to blindly pay an amount that I don't know what would be + plus bank conversion fees + plus paypal conversion fees. She gets really snotty with me and says that because SHE has to pay in US dollars when she buys from the US that I have to pay AU dollars buying from her. Long story short I ended up forfeiting the prize. I got another email from her after that, but I have no desire to read it and/ or do business with someone this unreasonable. This is a bunch of crock. I've also been able to change the currency when I shop from overseas vendors and if I can't then I walk away from the purchase. If she wanted me to pay in AU she should have stated that in the rules and I wouldn't have entered.
