Banquet at National Convention in San Antonio

Hi All!

I received my "Welcome to the Lone Star Stamped" via email/download, and I wondered who else was going to the convention - and should we sit together at the banquet.

Reservations are needed for the banquet, and we can reserve them in advance by email (yay!) :headbang: The seating is for 8 people at each table.

My husband, Bob, and I are going to the banquet - anyone else?

I don't know if we will be there for the Thursday night gathering or not (Meet and Greet, 7-9 p.m.). Anyone else going?

We will be there for the rest of the convention. :sunny: Can all the SweepsAdvantage members meet for coffee on Friday? Should I wear a rose in my teeth (taking it out for coffee, naturally). :coffee: Or should we just wear a certain color?

I am so excited about going to the convention :blob: I've only been sweeping since May 2006 and I have made so many friends here. It will probably be the only sweeps convention that I'll ever go to - I live in Austin, Texas, and San Antonio is "just down to road apiece" - and flying is getting so expensive!

Excitement is in the air :thewave:

I snore so no problem and was raise across the street from the depot so trains and earthquakes do not bother me.

I MUST get a roommate or face cancelling the room and getting a cheap dive.
I am desperately searching for airfares, preferably nonstop. I have to be in San Antonio on the 27th by 1 pm or so. Amtrak arrives way early like Monday which would be fine if not for not having money for an extended trip. I could do Amtrak if free but still a motel would cost about $160 so in the long run the food and fun would still add up to more than the airfare.

I so wanted to take the tours and sitesee. My ideal trip is arrive and spend a week in San Antonion and a week in Orlando with friends. I give up on miracles and I know this is impossible.

Not sure about same colour shirts but I like this thread to be sticked so we can have a planning thread. We need to be able to scream loudly SA RULES.

I am staying at the convention because of my health. I want to be near safe food, lol.
I am staying in the convention center. I for once want to not be a poor raggamuffin but instead have the good life and be part of the convention instead of being so tired that it is not fun. Helath is low lately. I need a miracle and a roommate.

I have the airline finally. The problem like the train was the timing. It cost me more because of the weekend. If I could have arrived the days before or after I could have gone with a small jet company or several airlines for the same or less. All seats are handicapped so the armrest lifts.

KT girl... what's up? I just got a confirmation back from Joy @ the convention and we have reserved our seats... do you want to join us at the table? Let's do try and get our SA table crackin.....

Anyone else from here who is going, please post so we can get the seating requests into the convention peeps...

u sure u don't want 2 stay at tinymomos table??? although i don't have any objections to SA tables... weeeeeeeeeeeeeee........ this is sooo fun.. i can't waittttttt :sunny:
 
I will go where there is an empty spot and remember I would be with tinymomo for all them nights, we might end up in a food fight, lol. You girls talk it over.

I wish I was a man then the idea of ladies fighting over me to be at their table woud be an ego boost.
I will go where ever my friends, online acquaintances or whomever will take me. That is the good things about being single. Hugs and let me know who I am going to set with.

We should get like 4 corners popping with SA people. BAR's groups were rowdy like the tongue baths and drinking but I think SA this year will have two tables of wild and crazy but family friendly members. Does anyone know the load capacity of the chandeliers at the banquet? :whistle:

If we could get a real man to do it but unfortunately it was given by a drunk who was crawling around the hotel lobby on his hands and knees, lol.

Yo, tinymomo, add that to room features, tongue baths. I hope she does not take me literally and hand me Irish Spring and a washcloth to wash my tongue, lol.

Dream vacation would be a 3 week vacation with me arriving 3 days earlier and seeing all the sites then flying on to WDW to party with friends for a week. I am just happy to find gluten free food. So far we doing good on the dream vacation though I feel like we are at the foot of mount everest. :cry:
