Backup Failed

Tried to backup files, got this error message 0x80070005. When I googled it, it said to download Error End software which ran a scan. Now I have 1300 errors instead of the 1. They want me to purchase software. Do I really have 1300 errors or is this a con to make you buy their software package for $29.99? How else do I get rid of the above error so I can backup my files? Please help with any suggestions. Thanks
