As most of you probably know, beginning in Feb., 2009, people with
older analog television sets NOT hooked up to cable or satellite will
no longer be able to receive television signals, because ALL stations
in the U.S. will be required to go digital.
To continue receiving t.v. channels, these viewers will need to
purchase a digital converter box to hook up to their t.v.'s. These
boxes should cost approximately $50-$70. BUT the U.S. government is
offering $40 coupons to help people buy these boxes. Even if you
have cable/satellites on SOME t.v.'s in your household, you're still
eligible for the coupon (we applied for one, because our basement
t.v. the kids use is not hooked up to cable).
The link to apply for a coupon is below. Please feel free to pass
this info. on to friends/family who may not have cable/satellite OR
internet, so they can save some money on the conversion boxes.
Thanks--and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
