A Loss and a Win

So week started off really bad. While we were away for weekend someone decided to steal our mail. Three packages I know of including my recent Marlboro sweepstakes Chill of the Grid win. Silly me thought packages would end up on porch and person taking animals would retrieve but apparently they were all shoved in mailbox. Other than what had tracking and said delivered no idea what we lost Live and learn. Everything will be brought in or held from now on. Needless to say i was a bit mad and upset until I got a call this morning. I won a $300 amazon card from our local Internet carrier in a contest I entered. Whoo hoo. That more than covers the $75 in stuff I lost including a Xmas gift for my daughter. The Lord truly does work in mysterious ways.

What a great win! Sorry about your thefts! Bummer! Our mailbox (came with our house) is sort of funny. It's built into a stone post. There is a huge hole in the bottom of the box that we cover with cardboard. If we remove the cardboard while we are away, the mail drops down and can be retrieved through a locked door in the back of the stone post. Weird, but helps with theft if we are gone! Congratulations on that $300!!
 
Well, I have to say that stealing someone's mail is totally pathetic! Maybe you should invest part of that win in a lockable mailbox. Congrats on the nice win, though!
