A great birthday, a greater husband!!

My birthday is on Christmas. And for, oh I don't know maybe 26 years, I've complained about it to everyone how I get cheated on my birthday. :crazytongue:

Saturday, Michael said we were going to meet the family for my birthday dinner at a restaurant. What he didn't tell me was it was a party and he had invited just about everyone I knew. He even invited all my old co-workers from the law office I worked at. The two Senior Partners split the office because of personality problems (read that ego problems) but both came because of me and really got along very well. I was really touched.

But the most amazing part was both of my grandparents came from Thailand. My Mom's parents are going to move her permenantly too! :headbang: :headbang: My Mom has 4 older brothers and three live in the states and one is a bachelor lawyer who lives in Bangkok (4 hours from my grandparents) and khun yai and Pii are getting up there and Pii can't really farm anymore. When we went over, my mother bawled the whole way back from Thailand because she had not seen them in 15 years and Yai looks so frail

Michael, being Michael, has been on the phone and talking to them all the time. Of course, since my Thai is horrrendous, he was talking right in front of me a few times and I didn't even know it. He has convinced them to stay here and found a house that is 5 houses down from my parents new house.

Then again, I think Michael could talk a penguin into flying.

My father's parents are staying with my folks until the spring or maybe even summer. :headbang:

On a humorous note, when the sit ins were occuring in the airport in Bangkok, Michael was totally stressing out. I had no idea why and kept saying "what's the big deal, we aren't going to Thailand until the spring!" Of course, he was worried that my grandparents visa would run out before the sit ins ended. :sunny:

We'll be having Christmas at our house -- like it or not! Ha!

My SIL Teresa comes up to Michael and goes "Ok, since have this many people this year, we're having it at your house. Here's a list of things that we're going to need. And Mom and I are going to run the kitchen" And then she grabs Randy, who was a professional chef, and starts telling him what he'll need to do. It was comical. Sh'es not really bossy, you'd have to know her so don't think she was rude, please.

I just got back from doing this massive shopping for Christmas dinner. I still have to wrap presents!!! Eek!

By the way Margaret, the quail now all have names. Michael built a little area for them to sleep in in the barn and Flamer is now feeding them too. I do not think they will be dinner anytime soon.

David...You'd better be getting some more names ready, come spring you're going to have the cutest little things dashing about everywhere! Lots and lots of then....have you switched to commercial quail food, its very important to get the right vitamins and minerals for successful egg laying (esp. calcium and phosphorous) A bunch of dead chicks will not make the kids happy
One quail can lay 200 eggs a year. That is the nice thing about prey animals, they reproduce readily. Quail eggs are delicious, though!

thanks for telling me about the food. When we go to the feed store, I'll put that on the list. Won't Michael love the fact we now have to feed them special food and still not eat them

We have so many foxes in this area, I'm sure a lot won't survive. Still, it is comical to see so how they adapted to living in a barn. Now, when it gets dark, they all come out of the woods and go right to the barn. They aren't stupid, are they?

I have been cooking all day and we'll be up late wrapping presents from Santa

I hope Everyone has a VERY Merry Christmas if I don't come on line until after then!!!

What a wonderful birthday present and Christmas surprise! I always knew that Michael was special ~ he has to be to put up with us picking on him all the time!

I hope you and ALL of your family has a wonderful Christmas holiday! Glad to know that the quail won't be the main course ~ lol! Michael will get use to that idea also!

See you both soon!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVID!!!!!!! :sunny:
