My birthday is on Christmas. And for, oh I don't know maybe 26 years, I've complained about it to everyone how I get cheated on my birthday. :crazytongue:
Saturday, Michael said we were going to meet the family for my birthday dinner at a restaurant. What he didn't tell me was it was a party and he had invited just about everyone I knew. He even invited all my old co-workers from the law office I worked at. The two Senior Partners split the office because of personality problems (read that ego problems) but both came because of me and really got along very well. I was really touched.
But the most amazing part was both of my grandparents came from Thailand. My Mom's parents are going to move her permenantly too! :headbang: :headbang: My Mom has 4 older brothers and three live in the states and one is a bachelor lawyer who lives in Bangkok (4 hours from my grandparents) and khun yai and Pii are getting up there and Pii can't really farm anymore. When we went over, my mother bawled the whole way back from Thailand because she had not seen them in 15 years and Yai looks so frail
Michael, being Michael, has been on the phone and talking to them all the time. Of course, since my Thai is horrrendous, he was talking right in front of me a few times and I didn't even know it. He has convinced them to stay here and found a house that is 5 houses down from my parents new house.
Then again, I think Michael could talk a penguin into flying.
My father's parents are staying with my folks until the spring or maybe even summer. :headbang:
On a humorous note, when the sit ins were occuring in the airport in Bangkok, Michael was totally stressing out. I had no idea why and kept saying "what's the big deal, we aren't going to Thailand until the spring!" Of course, he was worried that my grandparents visa would run out before the sit ins ended. :sunny:
We'll be having Christmas at our house -- like it or not! Ha!
My SIL Teresa comes up to Michael and goes "Ok, since have this many people this year, we're having it at your house. Here's a list of things that we're going to need. And Mom and I are going to run the kitchen" And then she grabs Randy, who was a professional chef, and starts telling him what he'll need to do. It was comical. Sh'es not really bossy, you'd have to know her so don't think she was rude, please.
I just got back from doing this massive shopping for Christmas dinner. I still have to wrap presents!!! Eek!
By the way Margaret, the quail now all have names. Michael built a little area for them to sleep in in the barn and Flamer is now feeding them too. I do not think they will be dinner anytime soon.
