Last night I won an Insect Shield promo prize pack (brochure, mouse pad, DVD and Insect Shield repellent bandanna).
The win, along with having a weekend off, fueled me to start sweeping hardcore again. :headbang: Growing up, I saw so many sweepstakes I wanted to enter, but I was not 18. The month before my birthday, I composed a list of about 75 sweeps that I wanted to enter when the time was right. Once June 24th hit, I ran, head first, into the world of sweeping.
I have not hit a big win yet, but I am not sure what would be a "big" win for me. Some sweepers say not to enter the contests that offer shirts and coupons as prizes, but I respectfully disagree. I am broke, in debt at 18. Looking at my closet, I see it is filled mostly with free shirts. WikiAnswers, Internships.com, Sobe, Miracle Whip, and Embody Peace and Love mix in with tattered shirts and gifts from friends. Coupons for free food are the only variety I get from my school's required meal plan. :eat:
I host a party from houseparty.com, and use free Sobe, M&Ms, Snikiddy, Wonderful Pistachios, and Bar-S coupons to feed myself and my guests. I am thrilled when I have enough to cash out for Amazon cards at Swagbucks, iRazoo, Zoombucks, and Predicto. They pay for textbooks, sweeping supplies, and a much needed suit and heels for Forensics competitions. And I will admit, I have spent hours upon days entering captchas on Lockerz videos, waiting patiently for the day I can redeem another gift card.
I have won prizes that I can use as Christmas gifts I could otherwise not afford to buy. I have an MP3 player and iTunes gift cards that I won that I am using to promote participation in a survey at my school, for my internship. The best intern gets $1000, and I sincerely hope that it is me. I won a pair of shoes that turned out too small; I gave them to a friend down the hall, and loved the way her face lit up at the thought of free shoes.
In short, every win is a big win.
