3 Years...not one win of any kind!!

I have been sweeping for about 3 years now. Entering 300-500 a day using my auto-fill, which works great. I enter everything I can find unless I just am not interested. 3 years without a sniff of any size !!! Somebody PLEASE explain this to me.

After three years, not even a coupon, music download, or anything? That does sound extreme.

Here are two excellent threads, stickied at the top of General Sweepstakes Talk. If you read through them, I'm sure you will come across some basics or tips you can try. Why not return here and post - maybe more about what you've been doing and what you have learned - after you read through these two threads?

When you say auto-fill, do you mean roboform or a program that enters for you?

If the latter, that could be the problem - you might be DQ'ed {disqualified} if you use program that enters for you.

For robo/autocomplete/etc., double check your fields to make sure you are inputting the correct info.

Recently, PO boxes were brought up - if you use one as your mailing address, most sweeps DQ you for it.

There are so many reasons people don't win, but you can only focus on what you can control, which I cover in that thread arrtup3 linked: NOT WINNING ANYTHING? Tips on WHY:

Thanks for your responses. I should refine my comments by stating that I have, several times, received coupons in the mail, indicating to me that those sponsors had in fact received my entries. I certainly don't classify those as "wins". The "auto-fill" I referred to is my form completion application, which I have verified is accurate as far as my data is concerned. I have never utilized any service to submit entries for me, due to the "DQ" possibilities that you mentioned.

Wow! I have to say you are certainly persistant and patient. Other than the links that have already been provided to you, I am at a loss as to what to tell you. You are certainly way overdue for the sweep gods to shine down on you. Do you enter the instant wins?

Sending this good luck fairy to you to spread some lucky dust over you!

Nevol,

An additional thought - just looking at the number sweeps people enter doesn't give enough of the picture. Same thing for the number of years people have been entering. I am very selective and don't win often, but I have had a handful of wins which made me very happy...not mega wins, as some people are fortunate to receive.

So, beyond the numbers, I think it may help to look at what you are entering. I could easily enter hundreds of dailies and one-entries which I choose to pass up. Sometimes I really would like to win the prizes, but I have never seen winners from certain sweeps. I hope the people who continue to enter them faithfully will post wins someday...but if you are entering that type of sweep, your chances may be slim. Other kinds of sweeps, like magazine dailies, seem to be hard to win from, but I have won from them a few times. Still, for the number of entries I put in, it seems like a small return.

On the other hand, there are some sweeps that offer lots of prizes, and daily prizes. I think chances of winning may be better with those. Same thing with sweeps that are short run. If there are only a few days for anyone to enter, then there should be fewer entrants, right?

Some people do very well on instant wins, but others don't. You may want to give them a try, if you aren't already entering. Again, some offer many prizes and will have many winners, while others may run for a long time and offer very few prizes, or small prizes like music downloads. Still, you get a winning screen or email, so you did win.

Many people do well on blogs and social networks. It is all a matter of personal choice and style, but you may want to look at what you are doing and try a new approach.

If you continue to enter regularly, you should win something. Let us know when you do!

Arrtup3,
Are you able to say what sweeps you don't see winners from so we are not wasting time entering those sweeps. Thanks for the tips.

janedrozd,

It is just my personal observation. I also searched the forum and never found wins posted. Some I remember, but others I can't recall until I see them listed in new sweeps, so it would be a little off balance if I were to single out the ones I'm thinking of right now. I don't want to start a discussion on this, I was just thinking about how someone could not win at all for 3 years, and that was one possibility which came to mind. I would never tell anyone to enter/not enter certain sweeps!

My point was for nevol to look at more than numbers and think about the kinds of sweeps where a person could have a better chance of winning (although we never know and someone will win something wonderful against the odds).

I try to focus on the positive and do not to make any negative comments.

I don't have any tips...can't top those two links posted above!

OK, ty for answering nevol.

Do you discount "gimmes" {Instant Wins where most everyone wins} and not count them either?

If I took out the small prizes, say under $500, I'd only have a handful of wins over 7 years. If I limiited it to under $1000, I'd have 3. While the average is 6 months for people to win, I've seen exceptions - people who win the first time they play, while others go 5 or more years.

You said you enter 300 - 500 a day - as noted, entering more increase your chances, but they don't ensure you'll win. I think because people post about winning, with some posting quite often, everyone assumes it's a given and when they don't win right away, they quit. You say you've been entering daily for 3 years, and didn't quit - so you have a positive attitude - if you keep that and keep at it, odds are you will win! :sunny:

Nevol, I understand how you feel and ironically I just posted almost exactly the same question to sweepers a day or 2 before you. I also enter 300-400 per day and have for 3 years. My "big" win to date is a WII. I always check rules and double check to make sure I am doing everything properly in each sweeps to no avail! I try to keep positive and not give up! I think there is a level of luck that some people have more than others so I figure I just have to keep entering to get ahead of my "black cloud of loserdom" LOL! I think some people who are very lucky do not understand what its like to try and stay positive and follow through without seeing results but keep sweeping and hopefully all your hard work will pay off! Good luck to all and happy sweeping!

kittylou - I spent my 1st 6 months sweeping convinced everyone who won knew a trick I was missing! :crazytongue:

Then, after 6 months of practically living online, entering anything and everything, I hit an IW when I took the time to play an IW to help out another sweeper {comment/vote for her family business} instead of whatever else I'd had planned.

Ever since then, I've associated helping others {with no expectation from them} into {hopefully} a win for me.

Recently, I've been voting for SA members - 10 - 12 of them a day - and I just found out I won the weekly from a completely different vote sweeps!

So, I help out because I remember how hard I had to dig for info, and how empowered I felt when I learned something - but I also do it because it gets my mind off not winning, which I truly believe is self defeating.
