Question: All those contests that are "Enter to win $250 towards your next vacation?" they all come from some sort of travel agents or such. I don't enter them because I'm afraid I'll get endless phone calls from someone trying to sell me a vacation. Is it ok to enter those? there are a lot of them. thanks.

I always skip them because it doesn't seem like much of a prize. It's more like a coupon. I'm sure you're not going to get a vacation for $250.

In my experience, $250 off does not qualify for a win, free is a win. They could jack the price up, and give you 250 off and still make a lot of money on the vacation. This sounds like a scam to me, but I have never entered one of these, nor will I ever. If you win, it is free, at least that's the way I feel. Don't pay shipping, port charges, transfer fees, etc, only taxes.

I've entered almost all of them and I havent gotten any phone calls at all(thank goodness) but i agree its not really a win just a coupon seems like a way to get you to book with them

I was entering them for awhile, and you might get an occasional email from a couple of them; but that's about it.

I did win from one of them. In the past, anytime I have won travel vouchers of any denomination, I was always able to find something that the voucher would cover completely; i.e. like a weekend at a hotel.

However, after winning from these, I found there was nothing offered on the site that the voucher would cover. On top of that, the voucher expired about two or three months after I received it. So, as stated above, it ends up just being no more than a coupon and really doesn't equate to a prize in my book.

Travel vouchers are usually something decent to win but not in this case.
