I am at the end of my rope...We have ladybugs. Not just a couple either ~ HUNDREDS in our house. I have vacuumed. I have crushed! I have caught and killed and they just keep on coming. They are Asian Ladybugs and they start coming in when it starts getting colder in October and they stink and they bite~

http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef416.asp

When the electricity was off and we were playing with the kids nintendo sweepstakes DS's they would swarm us because of the lights...not nice. They leave a yellow stain on stuff...it is terrible. They have traps for them, but they really don't work.

I hate them! I hate them! I hate them!!!!!

Thank you for listening. Now back to my dustbuster...

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

Many that sounds like no fun at all.
Sorry to hear you are having such a bad time!

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

Aww...leave the little ladybugs alone. Ladybugs are beneficial to gardens and such, as they eat mites and aphids and other little nasty garden insects. Why don't you just round up the little bugs when you see them inside the home, and dump them outside? Have you tried to use insecticide inside the home to give the ladybugs incentive to stay outside?

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

I feel your pain!LOL When I lived in Pennsylvania, I had the same problem. I was constantly vacuuming up those little boogers.

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

ahhhh.. what? crushed? are you crazy! They are sweet, cute little ladybugs dont kill em!. We get them here a lot also. When it starts to get cold they all come into the house. We gently remove them out into the garage.

lady bug killer.

Mighty harsh words to use against poor little ladybugs!

But I do sympathize with you. A problem we have out here is carpenter ants (sorta like termites). Once a year they decide they have the need to swarm! So they all grow wings and do just that! Which is extremely unfortunate if their nest just happens to be somewhere in the walls, floor, or ceiling of your house!

In a place I used to live in, I woke up one night with a start and there crawling all over me, the bed, and every square inch of the house was 50,000 large black 3/4" ants with 1" wings! They were everywhere! And more crawling out of every crack in the house!

Now, I am not usually twitchy .... but you learn how to be really quickly under those circumstances! :crazytongue:

My advice: squish 'em, stomp 'em, vac 'em! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I have seen that happen twice ~ once in my house and once in a friends house. It was a 'sea' of ant like creatures with wings...enough to give you nightmares!!! I am not squeamish either...so it was a lot!

I'm sorry, but anyone of you that wants to come and ummmm 'gently' move the lady bugs out side come on...I'm sick of them. They aren't helping our garden inside, and I can't put up with them for a couple more months. If it was just a few it would be different, but it is hundreds!!! They land in your food...just eat one of those suckers the next time you see one and you will see what I mean! They ruin clothes and floors and carpets...yuck!

They are not as big of a problem in a newer house that is more airtight, but our house is older and they are finding lots of ways to come in...sneaky devils...yucky!!! You guys can have them all!!!

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

I raised lady bugs last year but I'm not sure if they are the kind you describe....mine were a dark red color and stayed in the terrarium. I fed them a mix of honey, whey and bee pollen. They were not stinky. I raised them to keep the aphids off the pear tree and they did their job this year-we had so many pears the tree nearly fell down and I had to thin them...have you tried putting out foil pie plates with honey in the bottom? They will come to that and be easily sat outside.

I have ate them, drank them, and even snorted one up my nose...they have invaded every little part of my life. I hate them...I really do! So much that I could cry. I can't even crush them on anything that they can stain on...stinky critters...

If yours don't stink then they are NOT the same kind ~ lol! Trust me, you would know. If you touch one of these you will smell it for a couple of hours even if you wash your hands...shutters...

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

See that is what is going through my lady bugs minds...world domination!!!

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

 I never kill them unless its a spider and it gets on me. I hate spiders but will not kill them unless they are threatening me by invading my space. all other bugs get a trip outside.

I was just out feeding the bees and spilled the sugar water on one of my slippers. I gave them the slipper and will get them and wash them tonight. Nothing like having a couple of hundred bees crawling on your foot  Tickles.

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

You two will be first ones they seek out and destroy!

The rest of us don't leave witnesses! :headbang:

I wouldn't be so cruel if they didn't draw first blood...

Re: %*&(^*&^(^&~!*

I personally believe that those bugs will be real ticked off for being kicked out of the house.
