1/2 a prize?

I was wondering if anyone has ever won and taken 1/2 the prize, like the cash but not the trip. Do sponsors allow you to do that?

Mine didn't. It was either the trip, or nothing. So I had to take Nothing.

It will usually be noted in the rules that you must take the whole prize, or decline it. They usually will not substitute $$$ for a trip, and will re-award it to someone who will use the whole prize
