UPDATE:

I don't know if you've tried again, but ... the first time I tried to use the (corrected) gift code it was rejected. Went to a different Burger King the next day and it was accepted. Went back to the original Burger King and the same clerk was there - she said they had just received an email explaining how to use the gift card, and this time it worked.
The mistake was apparently trying to input the gift card before placing the order
? We've now used it 3 times at 3 different Burger Kings, without any more issues.

I'll let the following speak for itself - they corrected the missing last 3 digits ... it's really weird a company like this would compound
the initial error by sending EVERYONE a notice that they're getting a $300 e-gift card code when it's only what you were supposed to get in the original email with the bad code. I just verified that my $80 is indeed now valid as the code checked out.

they sent out emails with corrected codes yesterday, you can check the balances on the bk website. They aren't worth 300 like the email states though they are worth what you originally won. I wasn't able to get on here last night to put info on this thread I had put info on the other threads I had commented on just hadn't made in on to get on this one yet. I havent been to bk to use it yet(but the balance is valid I checked) my local store wouldn't put it on a plastic card they said they didn't know how. I called the number in the email and they said they can do it not in store apparently you have to email to have it taken care of I couldn't really understand the lady that I spoke with on the phone it kept cutting out so I will have to call back later to find out out how to get it done for sure

I got the same two emails. I was all set to donate burger meals to my local homeless shelter!! What a really horrible mistake. So my original $5 is now $3? How did you find out about the error?

This sweepstakes is drunk. Got another email today saying it's back to the amount I originally was told I won lol. I won $45 from it so that's great

ok for anyone who is wondering the gift cards DO work. I used some of mine a little bit ago and it went through. The cashier didn't know how to use it so she had to ask the manager before using it but it went through with no issues. The balance will be on the receipt so be sure to get your receipt and hang on to it if you don't use all of your gift card in one order.

Well I felt stupid when I went into BK & ordered & tried using my $30 egift code (on paper). It didn't work even though I have a balance of $30. I put this code in @ the BK website for gift card, & it shows a balance of $30. So now what? I sent an email to BK & nothing.

No, I haven't tried again. Maybe I'll try again next month. I've called the Customers Relations # twice, talked to two different people. They said they were sorry. As I told both of them, you have to informed the clerks @ your stores on how to handle these egift cards (paper). These clerks don't even know what they are. Both said that they'd have someone call me. I've heard nothing. IDK, how complicated can it be to enter a gift card number? It's kind of frustrating. :mad:

My (corrected) email prize has the 16 digit number and I haven't tried to use it yet...says it is for $300 e gift card...are they going to honor it?
