I didn't request an exception to be made. I felt that it was on me to not have read the rules more carefully. And it makes me happy to know someone else is getting a prize that they wouldn't have gotten. Maybe they need it more than I do.

They said in the email that the gift cards would not be mailed. Fair enough -- it was in their rules, I just overlooked it. I enter too many of their contests and have gotten lazy about reading their rules. She did express understanding about my husband's health.

I won a grocery store gift card from a local tv station. I did not notice in the rules that I had to pick up the gift card in person at the station. I received the winning notification yesterday ($150 gift card) but since my husband is in failing health, I don't travel any more than thirty...
