Y’all… I’ve officially hit $13,500+ in giveaway wins this year 😳🎉 and it still blows my mind every time a package shows up. From gift cards to fun products, it’s been nonstop surprises at my door.

I actually keep a log of everything I enter, and it’s wild to see how some strategies just work better than others. I’ve learned so much just by trial and error — some of it I never expected would make such a difference.

Curious — do you all track your wins too? Or do you just enter and hope for the best? I’d love to hear what’s worked for you!

What made up the bulk of the $13.5k in wins? Tracking your wins wouldn't necessarily effect whether you win more unless you're watching it like a pile of money and watching the pile grow. However, tracking what you enter and your ROI could produce a greater average return or certainly a more consistent one.

I’ve been entering giveaways for years, but this is the first year I’ve actually started logging everything I win. It’s not really about strategy or ROI for me — more just seeing everything add up like my little happy pile 😂.

So far I’ve won 56 giveaways this year! The bulk of that $13.5k total came from a New York trip worth around $5k, which was definitely the biggest surprise. Everything else has been gift cards, snacks, products, some big and smaller prizes that just make my day when they show up.

enter and hope for the best wow congratulations

I started out just writing my wins on a pice of paper (which I still have) and then I switched to logging them into a spreadsheet. I eventually wanted to keep just one notebook so I copied all of my wins into that. 2005 to present. I include the date I won, the prize, the sweepstakes name and then the date of when I received the prize. It’s fun to look back on all of my wins.
Congrats on all of your wins so far and good luck for future sweeps!

I only track the ones that have a 1099 most are over valued on merchandise anyhow because I would never pay what the apr says, cash and gc's are the best, turned down a few trips because of taxes and timing

WOW! Congrats!!! I've been an official "sweeper" since Feb. 2021! I've been keeping a photo of each win & a running list w/approx. value. I just added them all up and guessed at some prize packs and prize amounts & it didn't even match your wins this year! Mine was $11,631! The lowest was the bazinga glow bracelet valued at $1 and the highest was HGTV check for $10,000 (which allowed me to go to the Big Island of Hawaii and road trip with my dog Toby to Florida!). I limit myself so much (no cigarette contests as my mom died of COPD), no venmo or paypal and now I got off social media because of all the political chaos. I haven't quit but I am taking a break on those daily ones. So that's what I'm doing, but I don't know how much its working for me! LOL

Congrats on your wins. I keep a spreadsheet with my wins. I also take photos of my big wins. If I get frustrated because of a cold spell - looking over my past wins are a great motivator! (Remember to have a column for 'date received.' I check it to make sure the prize was received - if not I can contact the sweepstakes and inquire about it. Really works well for me)

I've been at this game for a very long, long, long time. I had some big wins in the 80's and 90's but those were hit and miss years because of the nature of sweeping back then. The best two decades for me were the last two with the rise of the internet and the ease of entering. I was averaging over $15K most years (mainly in trip wins). However, since the pandemic, only about $8k a year and I turned down three GP's during those years because of family engagements. However, while the last five years have not been as fruitful as previous years, I'm due for a big win. You just never know whats going to turn up. Last year seemed like a dog of a year, that is until October-December when I made over $7K in wins. So you can never throw in the towel on any year. I've been changing my strategy up to see what produces a better ROI, but I'm always doing that.

Very nice! I don't have a strategy except I only enter for things I would really want or need. I am just starting to enter contests as of this month after taking a break for many years. I've never won anything really big. Just doing this for fun for a short time before I have to go back to working, lol.

I have been sweeping for decades, sometime from the mid 1990s. I won a TV and that was the biggest win. I do not track anymore. I also never win except occasionally a coupon for a free product so apparently I have no strategy but I keep plugging away. I also enter way less sweeps than I did in the beginning so that can account for non-wins also. However, any tips appreciated even after all this time.

First off major congrats on all of your wins this year!
My mom who was also a die-hard sweeper for 70+ yrs! She only did mail-ins but she won a ton of prizes! Her best year she won over $100,000 in cash and prizes including her choice of 25K or a new Cadillac! I tried to teach her to do onlines but she said she preferred sitting in her fave chair watching TV and filling out her 3 x 5's. She even wrote a book on sweepstaking but its out of print.
Now she kept a huge binder and like you she kept track of all of her entries from what sweep newsletter the sweep came from to how many entries she mailed in to what sized envelopes and if she used white or colored envelopes etc Then of course when the wins came in she could look back later and decide whether or not it was worth renewing that newsletter. She also notated which judging agency drew the winners so if her entry was mailed in a white envelope she might not waste using a colored envelopes the next time.
Now me I don't have the time for all of that so I just log in a book when my wins come in and notate if it was from a newsletter, online form or which social media platform and the value of the prize!
