I bet someone won before you and didn't respond to the email. Then you were selected and they just copy pasted the original email without changing the dates.

I do a saran wrap ball every year for Christmas. I write the name of prizes I won on index cards and put them in the ball along with some lottery tickets. It's great fun. I don't really care what happens to the prizes, just so long as they are no longer in the container under the guest bed.
